Introduction
Sahara desert Race to me is a challenge, like the 2009 Coast to Coast longest day, in 17 hours, I finished that day. 2010 it was The North Face 100, a 100 Kilometres in the Blue Mountains Australia, with 5,000 meters of climb in a day. It was truly amazing running on tracks through the eucalyptus forests. Even today the emotional feeling and completing that Mission, in just over 18 hours, through the night still remains with me. 2011 was going to be my year of taking it easy, as if…. I was inspired by Lisa Tamati’s photos of the Sahara to run in extreme conditions and test my body and abilities as an Ultra Marathon runner….
Set yourself a mission, a goal in life, to complete that mission is an amazing feeling. In my determination through past events there is no option “not to finish”. I have my own core beliefs. Doing endurance events is all about the one holy belief I have in life “If you believe it, If you see it, Just do it”.
- Believing it means you have the confidence to do the event
- Seeing it means mentally imagining that you are there finishing the event…
- Doing it, you are there at the start line
Today I can now picture myself finishing the Sahara race, crossing that finish line with the pyramids in the back ground and the medal.
You can talk about doing things in life…. that’s alright talking about it, its more about making it happen and making the dream come true… I did this by entering the Sahara race on New Year’s Eve…. So far I have paid the deposit, and now I am looking for sponsorship …. I can offer a lot in terms of photography ..
